Digiteen Wiki Reflective Blog Post

1) Discuss your assigned digiteen topic, include a link to your topic wiki. Highlight and link contextually to at least three sources of information turned up in your research that are important.
My topic was on global awareness and my sub topic was copyright/fair use. Of course global awareness is about everyone being aware. I learned about what a copyright is, how it is used, and some recent news that involve copyright. Three sources of information I used were copyright.gov, which gives a lot of helpful background information. I also used the website of the U.S. copyright office, which also gives helpful information. The last source of information I used was the Wikipedia page of copyright because it gives news stories.
2) Reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of your group. Did you communicate? Did any partner from another classroom excel in their contribution, if so, link to their Ning page, and state what they did to distinguish themselves in this process.
Some of our strengths were that we had good presenters, we had fun games to play, and that we had a plan. we communicated well during this wiki and were able to discuss what we were going to do. I think our only major weakness was that we lectured too much. Susan did a very good job because she was interesting to listen to and she made a very interesting game that got the attention of the kids. Overall i think we did very good on this project.
3) How did you use your PLN as part of this process? Were Diigo bookmarks helpful?
I don't think that we used PLN during this project. The diigo bookmarks allowed us to keep track of the information that we found and it made the whole process much easier.

Action Project - minimum 200 words
4) Describe the Digiteen Action project, include a link to the action wiki. Share what you did for your action project and include hyperlinks to any resources used. Explain the target audience for your work and why your team selected that audience. The digiteen action project is the reflective wiki on your project. I typed a lot of the sentences on our wiki and most other people put pictures. I didn't need to use any resources while typing. Our intended audience would be another group that is planning on presenting to little kids and it is also intended for the kids that we taught so they can go back and review what they learned.

5) Evaluate the effectiveness of your team action project. Did it accomplish what you intended for it to do? How could it be improved? Is this something that other schools should consider in their digital citizenship programs?

I think our team project was very effective because it did have a good review of what we taught, this included pictures. It includes reflections from each of our teams members and pictures of us teaching to the kids. I think our wiki could be improved if we wrote more on it about our project. I do think schools should consider this because it is a good review for the team and for who they taught.

6) Evaluate your team. What could your team have done to improve this process? Were there any people on your team who did an exceptional job? How?

I was paired with a great team that was very smart and helpful. Our team could have improved if we would have used our time presenting better, because some peoples presentations were short and easy and others were lengthy and sometimes difficult. Susan did a good job because she was the most interesting to listen to.

Digital Citizenship - minimum 100 words
7) In your opinion, is Digital Citizenship something that should be discussed with children in school? In your opinion, what ages should learn about this and what topics are the most important?

I think digital citizenship is something that should be discussed in school because it is very important for students to learn. I believe all ages should start to learn about digital citizenship because if you learn at a young age it will make it easier to learn when you get older, even though it is hard for little kids to listen.

8) What is the most important thing you learned in this project.

The most important thing I learned during this project was how to work with a good team and how you have to be interesting in order to teach little kids. I also learned a lot about digital citizenship. This project was very interesting to learn about.
